well the company i work for have lost the contract i work on ( anglian water ) , we are getting taken over by a v.large company ( balfour beatie's ) on the 29th march . our jobs are protected by the ' tupe ' agreement BUT ???

our 1st days induction on the 29th WILL involve a pish in a bottle test , to check for traces of drugs !!!

well thats me fugged because cannabis takes approx 28 days to leave the body , we only found out about the test on the 16th , aint had owt since BUT aint no way on this planet am i gonna pass the test ( no chance what so ever ) , so looks like im gonna be signing on ( they wont give me owt due to the amount of savings i have .. fact )

so do i resign on the 26th ( next friday ) so failing a drugs test wont be on any work record of mine ( for future interviews etc etc ) or do i have a 'word' with them before hand & tell them the nearly truth that i packed in a month or so ago but traces of cannabis will prob be in the results ????? , im going out of me mind ( small as it may be lol ) with worry & so are about half a dozen of the lads , a couple of supervisors & 1 manager that i know of !!!

sorry to burden you with this personal sh@t , but ANY advice will ge gratefully recieved

    first of all ...

can they legally do this test without your concent? ( likewise have they said if you dont concent you'll be deamed as a " failure " of the test )

balflour beatie , as you say is a massive company ( would you chalange a failier of the drugs test in court ? , saying it makes no difference to your working perfomance ) ( bere in mind they prolly have well paid / best lawyers at there disposal )

    go to C.A.B. FIRST

are you in a union ? consult with them too as if this is a LEGAL proceedure

after that , and what they are doing IS LEGAL ( and your convinced that you wont pass the test ) ( reserch further ) i would resign ...chances of finding another job with a " failed drug test " on your record dont bode well ...

best of luck weasle ...but look into it before jacking it in ..

    luv youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

    Well........

I think its good that they check to be honest, if drivings involved, BUT.........The kidneys will excrete it quicker if you drink plenty of fluid and do lots of excercise......

Strangley I work for one of the biggest employers in the country and have never been checked. Suppose its a sign of the times.....
