STS's FINEST HOUR Empty STS's FINEST HOUR

Post  shaunthesheep Sat Feb 06, 2010 3:03 am

    yup !!! after 16 attempts at beating " shredder 12 " ( winner of the world computer speed chess competition , 2002 , 2003 , 2004 , 2005 & 2007 ) i " FINALLY " got 2 draws ( back to back ) playing white 1st then black

playing white 1st , got draw by perpetual check ( not repetition ) was happy as shitt

playing black ( i was 1 move from mate ) got screwed for the draw by repitionn , didnt see that coming

then FINALY won ...beat the b*stard .. checkmate with queen sacrifice .. i were fuckin awesome , usually write me moves down .. but as this were a 5min each game , didnt really have time ..

this was thursday btw ... gonna get fuckin drunk now ( well this afternoon )

tell ya summat ... i had an headache all thursday afternoon and all yesterday .. fucks ya mind up chess duz ... no more chess for a while now

recon the " litchfield open tourno " in the summer is on the cards ...gorra get job too pay for entrance fee 1st ....

i must add ... i usually go for the " stonewall " in my white opening repetior ..this time ( me mind musta overloaded )so summat different instead , so went for Ruy Lopez ( spanish opening ) aint played it for years ( dont like the bishop on the long diagonal , specially if yer opponent plays a closed game , it kinda sits there doing f*ck all for most of the game , not till the endgame duz it come into its own ( thats if you have a good endgame , or drop lucky ) .. might play it again soon ...but for the moment , gonna wallow i victory and just chill out and get drunk ...

    1. e4 - e5

    2. Nf3 - Nc6

    3. Bb5 - a6

    4. Ba4 - b5

    5. Bb3 ( Ruy Lopez opening )

try this one .. used too go on here years ago .. my advice is to use the " play with robots " button ( its a chess programme with 5 levels ) you should ( and i dont know how good you are ) be able too beat it on " MASTER " level ...but dont be fooled ..ya wont excactly be a master if you manage too beat it , as ive played my chess pooter at home against it ( plays too 2300 elo ) on a low level and me pooters pissed it .

36.Rb1 ????? was about too resign at that point with the game evenly balanced , until blundered the chance of a win with 36.....Rxb1 ..he missed it , so he played
    36......R2b6 ( there is a god )lol

game continued ..lasted the full hour and an half each ( almost ) my brain has fried .. the guy was from Russia , titanic battle , i recon tiredness cost him the end-game ...he resigned

    24. Ra2 Rb8

    25. Rab2 Ra8

    1/2 1/2

    game drawn by 3FR

typical closed position , no advantage ( i were playing white )to be honest i could'nt see a way through for either of us , i thought " maybe " i was a little better due to the linked rooks , but apart from that there was nothing in it , could have forced the issue with a pawn storm on Kingside , could have led to a defeat though ( exposing king ) happy with the half point at the end of the day , bloke was ranked 55+ ELO .. though i did have white pieces ... 1/2 1/2

ps .. was a 10mins each game ..both of us had around 4mins left
