the folks most likley to get killed or injured are young drivers or bikers! this is a fact we all know so whats news about that.
my question to you all is,is it the fact that bikes are dangerous one of the reasons we all ride do we have not a death wish but a side to our personalities that require a little danger for us to function.I went for a meal the other day at a mates gaff and he said to me that didnt i feel guilty riding a bike when i had a little boy to think about? I love my little boy beyond belief but there no way i could stop riding is that wrong of me???

In the news yesterday it says that Empty Motorcycle Kinell educated question we might not cope with.

If we all thought we shouldn't be riding or even driving then the world wouldn't be worth living at the thought of IF ONLY........!
I think there are 2 ways to rid a bike?
    1. like a nutter, then your chancing fate or a accident.
2.very careful and making yourself aware we can easily be knocked off.

On the whole I feel bikes are safe if you put yourself in a position of safety.
Blind spots! So many times I see bikers riding in car or lorry's blind spots, get out of it,drop back or accelerate.
Safety, just because the lights are on green doesn't mean its a go for bikers, check left and right and check again.
Riding behind a car, bikers put them selves in a position where a car or lorry cant see them.
T-junctions Islands...............again check and check again.

I think the problem with bikes is they are to fast WhooHoo.....5 mile stretch of road with no bikers in the rear view mirror, all of a sudden there there with the acceleration of them.

Fine with me giving my thoughts but I was knocked of My R1 Junction 26 of the M1 by a Tarmac lorry, b*stard never he knew he done it,broke a rib and still had to ride it home.

Well put,we cant think about all the things that may go wrong,if that was the case it would be pointless setting foot out the door whatever activity sport or hobbies we had.

went into work as usual. Went down one way streets as usual, had to avoid a few pedestrians as usual, got cut up a few times as usual, got into work as usual. Easy.

Overestimating one's ability is a danger that even the most seasoned riders can encounter. When it comes to total newbies, I think it is more a situation of underestimating the skills and abilities required to operate a motorcycle.
